Barcelona in Context is a Barcelona-based tourism agency born from the passion for teaching, revealing and giving context to the most special places and monuments of Barcelona and Catalonia. We are a team of experienced tourism professionals — licensed Official Guides of Catalonia, visitor assistants and a dedicated reservations department — who organise private tours, regular monument visits, corporate programmes and complete monument-management operations. We know the city and the territory first-hand, which lets us advise honestly among the countless options it offers. Our clients range from individual travellers and families to travel agencies, tour operators, DMCs, hotels, monuments, institutions and companies. We work in English, Spanish and Catalan, sustainably — Biosphere certified — and always with the same goal: that you leave understanding Barcelona, not just having seen it.
What we believe
A monument without context is scenery. Our founding conviction is that Barcelona rewards understanding: the same façade means more when you know who paid for it, who built it, and what the city was arguing about at the time. “Et posem en context” — we put you in context — is not a slogan for us; it is the product.
We combine experience and tradition with a will to innovate: classical city visits, monographic monument visits, thematic routes, excursions across Catalonia, and formats that did not exist until a client imagined them. Everything can be adapted; consensus with the client is how every itinerary starts.
