Do we go inside Casa Batlló or La Pedrera?

This is primarily an exterior walking tour that reads the façades and their context from the street. If you would like to visit the interior of Casa Batlló or La Pedrera, tell us in advance and we will arrange timed tickets as an add-on and build the visit into the route.

Does this tour include the Sagrada Família?

No. The Sagrada Família sits on the other side of the Eixample and deserves its own visit. This walk focuses on the Modernista buildings of Passeig de Gràcia; for the interiors of the Sagrada Família and Park Güell we run a separate Gaudí combination tour.

What is the Illa de la Discòrdia?

It is the block of Passeig de Gràcia between Carrer del Consell de Cent and Carrer d’Aragó where three of Catalan Modernisme’s leading architects built next to one another: Casa Lleó Morera by Domènech i Montaner, Casa Amatller by Puig i Cadafalch and Casa Batlló by Gaudí. The contrast between their styles gives the block its “discord”.

How much walking does the tour involve?

The route runs mostly along the flat, tree-lined Passeig de Gràcia over about three hours, at a relaxed pace with plenty of stops. It suits most fitness levels; if anyone in your group needs a gentler version we can shorten the distance and add breaks.
