Learn how the region’s Mediterranean climate, limestone soils and native grape varieties—such as Xarel·lo, Macabeu and Parellada—create the distinctive character of its sparkling wines.

Discover the traditional method (méthode traditionnelle), the same technique used to produce Champagne, where the second fermentation takes place inside the bottle to create fine, elegant bubbles. Explore the cellars, learn about ageing on the lees, riddling and disgorgement, and gain a deeper understanding of the craftsmanship behind every bottle.

We work with a small circle of boutique wineries in the Penedès and choose based on your dates, language and interests — cava-focused, still wines, organic production. The confirmation includes the winery’s name and profile.

Is transport from Barcelona included?

The excursion is designed door-to-door from Barcelona with private transport arranged according to your group’s size. We confirm the transport plan and pick-up point when you book.

Can non-drinkers or children come along?

Absolutely. The landscape, the cellar visit and the lunch carry the day even without the wine, and wineries offer grape juice or soft alternatives for children and non-drinkers.

When is the best season for this trip?
